Prose and Poetry

They say a picture is worth 1000 words. That’s true, but the stories and poems that have amassed over the centuries are not to be scoffed at. In fact, they represent our accumulated experiences, can cause our imaginations to soar, let us see things in a different light, and help us make sense of the world and our place in it. And they have mental health benefits. According to Phyllis Klein of Women’s Therapy Services, “… poetry gives rhythm to silence, light to darkness. In poetry we find the magic of metaphor, compactness of expression, use of the five senses, and simplicity or complexity of meaning in a few lines.”

Our collection of works has a few from our own writers, and a few from others both well-known and completely unknown. We hope they move you in new and provocative ways.
