St. Malo — 21 Miles
A walled in city on a peninsula in the River Rance, St. Malo is popular among tourists. As it’s claim to fame, St. Malo was the home to Jacques Cartier – he discovered Canada – but also to pirates who operated on the western edge of France.
Walking through the cobbled streets of St Malo’s old town will bring you past dozens of restaurants and shops to suit all tastes and interests. You can also visit two islands just opposite the old town, but time your visit right, or you’ll be cut off after the tide comes in.
