We’ve set up three itineraries which focus on the key sites. We used the Borgo Egnazia Hotel as the home base, pictured below. It’s centrally located in the region, and is a nice place to come home to. And as I mentioned, if you stay there, try the spa.
If you’re going to be in Puglia for a while, you can split these itineraries up and do fewer towns each day — that way you can savor each and not feel rushed. Also, you have to do something with your time if you’re here for a week or so. There’s just so many days you can go to the spa.
As we recommend for all of our travel guides, load up each of the destinations in your GPS and scout out restaurants for each town (trip advisor and yelp are great resources) before you arrive in country, and print out this itinerary so you have a hard copy to take with you. Again, while you might not fall in love with every town on these tours, there’s likely to be a few that will make the trip worthwhile.
