So, Puglia is wonderful. But maybe I should add a cautionary note here. Puglia is in the south, and the south takes riposo, or siesta, seriously. Many restaurants are closed and city centers deserted between the hours of 1pm-4pm, and that’s especially true in the smaller cities and during the off-season (October – April). So, plan accordingly.
There’s a lot to explore throughout Puglia and the only way is by car. The good thing is it’s not a mountainous area, so driving is easy and the roads are first rate.
