Here are some thoughts from my various clippings and listenings on this latest trip:
There are a group of car enthusiasts in Southern California that turn old classic gas burning engines into new all electric vehicles. One of the guys recently did a tiny Fiat 600. Initially that tiny Italian Masterpiece came with a bit over 20 horsepower — now she boasts 80 and doesn’t smell like an old garage. Why would anyone want to do this? Well, as cool as these old rides are, they still have carburetors and spring leaks in ancient radiators.
The process is found almost everywhere but like most things “car”, the hub is Southern California. There are conversion shops, and brokers that will set you up with one, there are refurbishing projects from the little Fiat to an E Type Jaguar that when fully done will run you close to $500K…
