That’s Millennials — maybe not as bad as the popular press would lead you to believe. But just in case you still think they’re not as good as the Boomers, here’s some points to consider. We Boomers started out with some major hits in the 60’s, with our protests against the Vietnam war and the beginnings of civil rights movements. And certainly we’ve had many other achievements since then. But we’ve also had our downsides:
- We made getting stoned cool — we popularized marijuana, and many us were sticking stuff up our noses in the 80’s. In fact, there were enough of us behaving that way that a president had to declare a war on drugs, costing the country more than a trillion bucks and accomplishing nothing.
- We started out as hippies and ended up as yuppies, finding all kinds of ways to satisfy our greed and express our narcissism. Our major objective when we were in our 30’s and 40’s was the accumulation of wealth, at any cost.
