The Superbowl is supposed to be about a game, but not really There are the commercials, the half-time show, the social gatherings, the Anthem singer — this year it’s the great Gladys Knight — and, in between there’s football. The amount of food consumed on this day is second only to Thanksgiving, and the amount of money bet could be as much as $10 billion on over 400 propositions and outcomes. The audience is expected to surpass 100 million, and that’s not just Americans. Indeed, the Superbowl has been embraced by the rest of the world.
