There are other works that are more expensive than the 20 I presented. The most famous paintings are owned by museums and not for sale, and so they’re priceless. No point in talking about those if you can’t buy them. There are also lots of other masterpieces that sell for under $125 million, but we think we’ve gone far enough.
Back to reality. As I mentioned up front, you can still dump the fake art and not have to spend even tens of thousands of dollars to get your hands on outstanding originals. There are a number of up and coming artists who have the potential to be future stars, but since they haven’t yet realized their future stardom, their paintings are still reasonably priced.
