If you are looking for great vocalists, there are many. My favorite, at this point, is Madeleine Peyroux. Ms Peyroux, once a street singer in Paris, brings both honesty and beautifully crafted interpretations to her music. This, to go with a smoky and sultry jazz singing voice, makes her a true delight. She is one of the very fine singers of our time, and someone who deserves a good long listen. Madeleine has just come out with her new album Anthem, which is truly a pleasure to listen to, and which we highly recommend.

There are, of course, countless other examples and players. What I have tried to offer is the idea that finding new and passionate art can be done with just a bit of looking. You don’t have to understand every chord change and augmented or diminished whatever. Just sit and listen and let your imagination fly.
