Fougères — 35 Miles
In it’s early days, Fougeres’ was a center for cloth-making, dying and tanning, the last of which was a by-product of cattle breeding. Nowadays, people come to Fougères mostly for the castle, which dates from the 12th century and is considered one of the best in Europe. But the town also has a great medieval district, especially in the area of Place du Marchix.
