LABRO — 13 MILES
Labro is quite small — in fact, it’s so small that a detailed guide on the town doesn’t seem to exist. No matter, you may still love it. It has it’s share of stone houses and winding cobblestone streets and alleyways, and even a castle dating from the 10th century. It deserves a quick visit for its well-preserved historic center, which has allowed it to retain its identity as a medieval town.
Getting into Labro requires that you park your car outside the center and walk up, and there are lots of steps. If you’re not up to that, the road that circles the town and the parking areas off the road offer pretty amazing views of the countryside. If you decide to make the effort, you will feel transformed in time, and the views of the surrounding area are even more spectacular. In fact, it’s the views that are really the highlight of this visit.
