Trying to abuse everything at the same time ***
I grew up in NYC, and lived there for most of my life. As yu can imagine not much surprises me, however, there are still things which make me glad I left. The place has gone from brilliant to great to idiotic in a mere decade.
Let’s talk about going in opposite directions at the same time. Try this, yu overwork yourself all day at the office, then to unwind yu go to a fancy gym and overwork yourself again, and call that a ‘stress reliever’. Stop making yourself and everyone who reads about this life style wanting to put a bounty on yu. Just over-eat and be done with it!
New clubs are springing up daily for those with too much money, too much time, and no way to meet a sexual partner. (We still have bars and once sufficiently soused yu will find your short-term mate, we promise).
Moss is a new gathering place in Manhattan where you can subsist in a five story private club where after you pay your 2 Grand initiation fee and pony up the 600 bucks per month, you too can “gather in the shared pursuit of intellectual leisure”. They specialize in thermal pools and hammams. If you don know what a ‘hammam’ is don’t fret, neither does Webster!
In another club yu are asked to step into a 185 degree performance sauna for a 20 minute wind down ritual, after which yu may rub your face with ‘wooden gua-sha tools’. Once again, don’t know what wooden gua-sha tools are? Yu and Webster are fast falling behind.
We could go on and on, but what’s the point. This is NYC, not even LA, think about that for a minute.
The point of all this is Simplicity. Yu want exercise, go for a jog or a walk. Yu want to meditate, sit in the park or in your back yard. If yu absolutely need the sauna or steam room, give the YMCA a chance.
Please, neighbors stop this moronic behavior. Just relax and watch TV, eat ice cream. Laugh at each other, curse your landlord, reject the junk mail in your mailbox. Start living a life that has worked pretty damn well since Lincoln went to the theatre!
*** Please note the author refuses to put the O in YOU, no need. Its a sub modern technique which the Incas felt reduced stress…
