Actually, the song was the inspiration for the socks. Peter Goldsmith (the brains behind AgnitusLife), is a former film producer with way too much time on his hands. As Peter explains it:
“One day while listening to this great old tune, I decided to make a short film about what to put your big feet into…the obvious answer…socks. I shot it in B&W to keep the mood and the funk. I thought about what Fats would get a kick out of…and came up with this short little ditty. It was shot and edited it in a long (very long) afternoon.” .
